Economic and Regional Studies

Dear Readers and Authors,

Welcome to the website of the international, open access, bilingual scientific journal “Economic and Regional Studies/ Studia Ekonomiczne i Regionalne”, published by Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biała Podlaska (Poland).

The first issue of our journal appeared in 2007 as an yearbook entitled “Scientific Dissertations”. In 2011 we changed its title to “Economic and Regional Studies” and we began to publish it bi-annually. Since 2013 the journal has been issued quarterly, in a bilingual version, in English and Polish. <

The main mission of the journal is to disseminate theoretical knowledge and the results of empirical research in the fields of economic and social science in a broad sense, as well as regional and local development strategies and public policies.
We intend to draw special attention to the problems of Central and Eastern Europe; however, we are also open to addressing the issues of other regions of the world. We would particularly welcome publications concerning the development of less advanced regions, peripheral regions, those located in cross-border zones, and those with territorial development problems.

We accept original papers which have not been published elsewhere and have a clear scholarly, cognitive or methodological value. Papers submitted for publication undergo preliminary editorial review and are subject to blind review by two external experts. The periodical is available in print version and online. The website enables open access to the contents of the volumes, individual articles, and abstracts.

We are pleased that the journal has been of interest to a growing number of authors and readers. The journal can be found in some indexed databases. In the last official evaluation by the Ministry of Science and High Education in Poland it was awarded 9 points.

We appreciate your cooperation and we would like to invite all potential authors to submit their papers for publication.

Mieczysław Adamowicz
Editor-in-Chief
