ABSTRACT
The challenge of building the knowledge-based economy requires horizontal, long-term and comprehensive actions that are taken at various levels. Innovation processes, which constitute the core of modern economies, take place in a specific system of interconnections between businesses, scientific research institutes, non-governmental organizations, citizen initiatives and public sector. In such circumstances, bridge entities, institutions that support the socio-economic partnership to build the knowledge-based economy, which are the innovation centers, have developed. Some of them provide only information or consultancy services, but there are also entities which offer very complex service concerning commercialization of knowledge or technology transfer and support technologically advanced business branches. They are called technology parks. These parks become important actors of city or regional space, influence the actions undertaken of local governments and contribute to their initiatives. They also conduct marketing services. The purpose of the paper is to present chosen circumstances of marketing activities of technology parks and local governments as well as their relationships in territorial marketing context. The paper is based on literature and case studies.
