ABSTRACT
On day 19th of March 2009 in Biała Podlaska there was held the Vth International Scientific Conference entitled “Effectiveness of prophylaxis and resocialization: utopias vs. reality”, organized by the Institute of Pedagogics of Pope John Paul II State School for Higher Vocational Education in Biała Podlaska (PWSZ). The key objective of the Conference was to present state of the art in contemporary studies on prophylaxis and resocialization, to overview methods of work of selected subjects with persons at risk of exclusion, and finally to identify the function of prophylaxis and resocialization in reference to a person, family, school and youth environments.
